Six literary rogues, scored for trumpet, brass & rhythm.
A narrative suite for brass-and-rhythm ensemble, Tales of Tricksters and Vagabonds brings six unforgettable literary and folkloric archetypes to life — Rumpelstiltskin, Puss in Boots, Mercutio, Uriah Heep, Raskolnikov, and Falstaff — through original compositions drawn from Mike Herriott's master's thesis in music composition.
Released on H&H Records in 2023 to widespread critical acclaim, the album now comes to the stage for the first time on a six-show world premiere Canadian tour in fall 2026, featuring locally-hired ensembles in each city.
